Daubenton’s Bat Myotis daubentonii
A medium-sized bat with a strong association with water, characteristically skimming just centimetres above the surface of rivers and lakes to catch emerging insects. Medium brown fur above, silvery-white below; pinkish face; relatively large feet, which it uses to trawl prey from the water’s surface. Commonly roosts in bridges and trees overhanging rivers and streams. Image: © Maksymilian Wojtkiewicz, iNaturalist.
